Connect to Apple Health

FitWoody connects to Apple Health to read, write, and process your health data. This connection is essential it’s how we personalize your experience and help you reach your goals across iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

1. First-time setup (onboarding)

When you first open FitWoody, you’ll be asked to allow access to your Apple Health data.

We recommend granting Read and Write permissions for all categories to unlock the app’s full potential.

2. If you skipped or denied permissions later

No worries you can enable them at any time.

Option A From the Health app (recommended):

  1. Open the Health app on your iPhone.

  2. Tap the Sharing tab at the bottom.

  3. Go to Apps and Services.

  4. Tap FitWoody.

  5. Enable Read and Write for all available data categories.

Option B From iOS Settings (in some versions):

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Scroll down and tap Health.

  3. Tap Data Access & Devices.

  4. Select FitWoody.

  5. Turn on Read and Write for all categories.

3. If permissions still don’t appear

Sometimes, iOS doesn’t show the authorization screen again. Here are two fixes:

Offload the app (keeps your data):

  1. Go to SettingsGeneraliPhone Storage.

  2. Find and tap FitWoody.

  3. Tap Offload App.

  4. Then tap Reinstall App.

When you open FitWoody again, iOS should ask for Apple Health permissions.

Reinstall the app completely:

As a last resort, delete FitWoody and reinstall it from the App Store.

Keep in mind this may require you to log in again.

Why access matters

Allowing full permissions ensures FitWoody can properly sync steps, heart rate, sleep, workouts, and more and even write back your training sessions to Apple Health for a seamless experience.
